Jay Harrison, a fitness professional with an enviably toned and sculpted body, which takes an enormous amount of willpower, dedication and nutritional planning to maintain, (I believe the word on the street is ‘shredded’) was one of my very first subjects and we have worked together on a number of occasions.
It is quite difficult to select my favourite images to showcase because each set varied; such was the free reign and scope I was granted to practice, learn and grow as a photographer by his willingness and patience. Actually a shy and private person by nature, Jay understood that working so very hard on his physique, needed some kind of visual documentation.
I am collating my favourite images of Jay into this blog post, so that they can be seen in one place and in context, because I will always be so very proud of them. As I have said, he was one of my first subjects to photograph and I think that this particular collaboration charts my progress and very much shows my versatility as an aspiring photographer.
Intentionally, I tried to showcase the artistic, aesthetic and abstract, but also the gratuitous, the technically imperfect and the candid shots that we produced. He loved some pictures and disliked others but I styled him in ways that he didn’t particularly want to be styled and I pushed him as much as I pushed myself but on the whole both he and I are very happy with the finished results and the wealth of experiences it brought to the pair of us.
